Faye Brockmiller and Clyde Daniel
Faye and Clyde are beloved Pilgrims. They married in 2015 (each had been widowed). They always say “I married my best friend” when they introduce themselves and each other. They are the cutest couple ever and they participate in every outreach Pilgrim tackles.
Clyde never passes up a chance to show his devotion to Alabama football and the rest of the Pilgrims overlook this flaw in an otherwise wonderful person (tee hee). We love and accept him just as he is! Faye is also an Alabama fan as she graduated from the university, but she is a southern lady and far less vocal about it. Having said that, don’t let her hear you bad mouth her Pittsburgh Steelers!
They are pictured (top) with their visiting family, Here is what Faye says about this picture:
“It was my birthday and the whole bunch came and actually stayed for church. All previous times they all had to run home because of very urgent stuff. This time they stayed. We were celebrating my birthday and as well as Chris's. Clyde and I were so proud when we marched down to the front of the church and sat them between us. We took up an entire pew, just like the Balfes (the Balfes have 6 grown children). After the service, Chris, who happens to be gay, said that if he lived here he would certainly come to this church. Elizabeth said she could feel the presence of God in that hour. A few months later she and her family left their mega church which they had attended for 3 years (and where people asked them on a regular basis if they were visiting). They now attend a smaller church very much like ours in their home town.”
Clyde says about Pilgrim “The people are the most loving people I have ever been associated with. It’s something that is wonderful to be a part of. And I’m happy that we are active in the community. I enjoy that very much also”.
